Photography began as a hobby for me. When my son was still young and playing on recreational sports teams, I decided to photograph the team and the individual players. Seeing a need for a sports photographer in Alexander County, in 1994, I started taking other area teams. Word spread quickly, and within a few years, Hefner Photography was officially established.

Pictures represent priceless memories, but they should be affordable. I built my reputation on producing quality photographs at a reasonable price. This is still my objective today. ​

In 2001, I began taking family portraits in my home studio. I quickly expanded my business and began photographing high school seniors, proms, and private schools in a variety of locations. Since then, I've continued to expand my services by offering affordable wedding photography, real estate photography, and more.  

​Today, my wife, Debbie, and I work to photograph many different occasions throughout the North Carolina area (primarily Taylorsville, Hickory, Charlotte, Asheville, Boone, and Winston-Salem/Greensboro).
